Learners sometimes use 'garner' for everyday, physical things (e.g. *garner a car*, *garner some bread*), which sounds unnatural. In modern English, 'garner' is mainly used in formal or written contexts for abstract things like support, attention, praise, interest, votes, or information. They also sometimes treat it as a very common spoken word; in conversation, 'get', 'gain', or 'earn' is usually more natural.
المعنى
collect or gain over time
المتلازمات اللفظية

المرادفات
gain (More general and common; does not carry the same sense of careful or active collecting that 'garner' often suggests.)
