Words can be left unsaid when the listener can recover them from the situation or the rest of the sentence. This avoids needless repetition. Some languages often leave subjects unspoken, while others normally require them, and languages also differ in which other words can be omitted. Unlike Dummy subject, this block is about understood words that are absent, not an empty word that must be present.
