Create a set for what you want to learn

You do not need to start with a ready-made vocabulary list.

Tell Vocafy what you want to learn and it can create a Voca Set for you. You can ask for vocabulary for a topic, situation or goal and generate several Voca cards at once instead of adding every item by hand.

You can also give more context when it matters. If a word can mean different things, you can make it clear which meaning or situation you want the cards to focus on.

The result is still your collection: you can edit it, remove what you do not need and add more whenever you want.

Turn material you already have into Voca cards

If you already have vocabulary you need to learn, you do not have to rebuild it from scratch.

You can paste or import an existing list, or take a photo of material such as a textbook page, vocabulary notebook or printed word list.

Vocafy can read the text in the image, pick out the vocabulary and turn it into editable Voca cards. You can then check the result and continue working with the set inside Vocafy.

Add words as you find them

A Voca Set does not have to be finished when you create it.

If you find a useful word or phrase while reading, watching a video, following song lyrics or using another supported part of Vocafy, you can add it to one of your sets.

This makes it easy to build a collection around something real: a book you are reading, a course you are taking, an upcoming trip, your work or simply a topic that interests you.

Keep more than just the word

A vocabulary list is often more useful when you can also see how a word or phrase is used.

Voca Sets can keep words and phrases together with example sentences, translations, audio and images where available.

This gives you more to work with than an isolated list of words and helps preserve the information that was useful when you added them.

Listen to your Voca Sets

You do not always have to look at a screen to spend time with your vocabulary.

The built-in player can read through a Voca Set for you. You can choose whether you hear the word or the translation first, adjust the pauses and decide how many times each item is repeated.

You can also change the playback speed, repeat items and use a sleep timer.

This can be useful while travelling, walking, exercising or whenever listening fits better than sitting down with a vocabulary list.

Practise the same vocabulary in other ways

A Voca Set can also be the starting point for other activities in Vocafy.

You can practise the pronunciation of words and sentences from a set or create a quiz from the vocabulary you want to work on.

Voca Sets and your Learning Memory

Voca Sets are collections you create and organise yourself. Your Learning Memory is broader: it keeps track of words you are learning across Vocafy, even if they are not part of a particular Voca Set.

So you can use Voca Sets when you want to keep certain vocabulary together without having to organise everything you learn into separate lists.
