Instead of starting with a separate audio course, you can listen to the words and phrases you are already learning or to vocabulary you have organised into your own collections.

Hear the expression, its translation or meaning, and the example sentence that gives it context.

Choose how you want to hear it

Different situations call for different kinds of listening.

You can adjust the playback order—for example, hearing the target language before the translation or the other way around—and control the pauses between the expression, its meaning, and its example.

Repeat items when you need more exposure, or keep the playlist moving when you simply want to listen.

Practise without constantly looking at the screen

Vocabulary practice does not always have to demand your full visual attention.

Use continuous playback while walking, commuting, cooking, or whenever you want to spend time with the language without working through another screen-based exercise.

Playback controls let you move forward or back, change speed, repeat material, and continue through the current queue.

Build listening around a collection

A Voca set can become more than a vocabulary list.

Create a collection around a topic, course, trip, book, or personal goal, then use the same words, phrases, translations, and examples as focused listening material.

With more detailed playback controls, you can adjust repetitions and pauses, change the order of the languages, focus on selected material, or use a sleep timer for longer listening sessions.

Listening is another way to meet the same language

Seeing a word, recalling it, and recognising it when you hear it are different experiences.

Listening gives vocabulary another form of exposure without separating it from the material you are already learning.

The same expression can be encountered in content, saved with context, reviewed later, and heard again as part of your own listening practice.

These do not have to be separate copies of the same word in different parts of Vocafy. Where the features are connected, they can work with the vocabulary you have already saved and what Vocafy already knows about it.
