These Terms should be read together with our Privacy Notice and Cookie Notice. Our Acceptable Use Policy forms part of these Terms. Additional terms may also apply to specific features, paid plans, groups, schools, or services.
1. Who we are
Vocafy is operated under the Vocafy brand.
Until a formal legal entity is displayed in our Legal Notice or in an updated version of these Terms, references to “Vocafy”, “we”, “us”, or “our” mean the person or entity operating the Vocafy Service.
You can contact us at: hello@vocafy.net
For privacy matters, contact: privacy@vocafy.net
For copyright, abuse, or content reports, you may contact us through the reporting tools available in the Service or by email at:
abuse@vocafy.net

2. The Vocafy service
Vocafy is a language learning platform that may include features such as:
- vocabulary saving;
- personal word and phrase collections;
- reading and listening tools;
- AI tutor conversations;
- AI-generated explanations, examples, translations, and quizzes;
- spaced repetition and review tools;
- pronunciation and speech features;
- imported learning materials;
- public or shared collections;
- community, group, classroom, or collaboration features;
- progress tracking and personalized recommendations.
Vocafy is an evolving product. Some features may be experimental, incomplete, changed, suspended, or removed as we develop the platform.
We may update, improve, limit, replace, suspend, or discontinue features at any time, subject to applicable law and any specific commitments made to paying users.
3. Eligibility and younger users
You may use Vocafy only if you can legally agree to these Terms in your country, or if you use Vocafy with the consent and supervision of a parent, guardian, teacher, or school where required by law.
Users under 13 may not create or use an independent Vocafy account without appropriate parent, guardian, teacher, or school involvement.
Users below the age of digital consent in their country may need parent or guardian consent to use Vocafy.
In Québec, users under 14 may require consent from a parent, guardian, or tutor, unless an exception applies under local law.
Vocafy may apply additional protections for younger users, such as private profiles by default, limited visibility, restricted public sharing, or disabled marketing communications.
If you are a parent, guardian, teacher, or group administrator, you are responsible for ensuring that younger users use Vocafy appropriately and with any required consent.
4. Accounts
You may need an account to use certain parts of Vocafy.
You agree to provide accurate information when creating and using your account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
You must not:
- share your personal account with another person;
- use another person’s account without permission;
- create accounts using false or misleading information;
- impersonate another person or organization;
- attempt to bypass security or account restrictions.
If we detect suspicious activity, we may temporarily lock your account, require additional verification, limit access, or take other reasonable steps to protect the Service and other users.
5. Free services, paid plans, trials, and usage credits
Vocafy currently may provide free access to certain features.
We may introduce paid plans, premium features, subscriptions, usage credits, AI credits, token packages, trials, or other paid services in the future.
5.1 Paid plans
If paid plans are introduced, the price, billing period, included features, usage limits, renewal terms, and cancellation rules will be shown before purchase.
Paid plans may include monthly or yearly subscriptions.
Unless otherwise stated at checkout, subscriptions may renew automatically until cancelled.
You are responsible for cancelling a subscription before renewal if you do not want to continue using paid features.
5.2 Payment provider
Payments may be processed by a third-party payment provider, such as Stripe.
Vocafy does not store full payment card details.
Your payment provider may have its own terms and privacy notice.
5.3 Prices and changes
We may change prices, plan limits, included features, or usage quotas.
If a change materially affects an active paid subscription, we will try to provide advance notice where required by law or where reasonably possible.
Price changes will normally apply from the next billing period, unless stated otherwise.
5.4 Trials
Vocafy may offer free or discounted trials.
A trial may include limited access, reduced usage limits, limited AI credits, or limited premium features.
The specific trial terms will be shown when the trial is offered.
We may change, limit, or discontinue trials at any time.
5.5 Usage credits, AI credits, and token packages
Vocafy may use usage limits, AI credits, token packages, or similar units to manage access to AI, speech, audio, or other resource-intensive features.
Unless expressly stated otherwise:
- usage credits have no cash value;
- usage credits are not a currency;
- usage credits are not transferable;
- unused usage credits may expire;
- usage credits may be limited by plan, feature, time period, or fair use rules;
- we may deduct credits when a request is submitted, processed, generated, or partially completed.
AI, speech, audio, and similar features may involve real infrastructure and provider costs. For this reason, used credits or consumed digital services may not be refundable except where required by law.
5.6 Cancellation
You may cancel a paid subscription according to the cancellation process made available in the Service or by the payment provider.
Cancellation usually stops future billing but does not automatically refund amounts already paid, unless required by law or stated in a specific refund policy.
When a subscription ends, your access to paid features may stop or be downgraded.
5.7 Storage after subscription ends
If your subscription ends, we may continue to store your account and learning data for a reasonable period, subject to our Privacy Notice.
However, we do not guarantee indefinite storage of premium-only content, large files, generated audio, cached media, AI-generated materials, advanced history, or other paid-feature data.
If your account remains inactive or without an active paid plan for an extended period, we may delete, reduce, limit, or archive certain content after notice where reasonably possible.
Unless a different period is shown in the Service, we may delete or limit storage of premium-only or resource-intensive content after 12 months without an active subscription.
5.8 Refunds, cancellation, and withdrawal rights
If you are a consumer, you may have statutory rights, including withdrawal or cancellation rights, depending on your country.
Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot legally be limited.
For paid digital services, digital content, AI credits, usage credits, token packages, generated content, or immediately available premium features, we may ask you at checkout to expressly request immediate access and acknowledge that:
- the Service may begin before the end of any statutory withdrawal period;
- your withdrawal right may be limited or lost where permitted by law;
- if you withdraw after using part of the Service, you may be charged for the part already provided or consumed where permitted by law;
- used credits, generated content, AI usage, speech processing, or other consumed digital resources may be non-refundable where permitted by law.
The specific refund, cancellation, and withdrawal terms shown at checkout will apply to the relevant purchase, subject to applicable law.
If we publish a separate Cancellation and Refund Policy, that policy will apply to paid services together with the checkout terms, subject to applicable law.
6. Your content
“User Content” means content that you upload, import, create, save, generate, publish, share, or submit through Vocafy.
User Content may include:
- words, phrases, sentences, and examples;
- custom vocabulary lists;
- collections;
- notes;
- comments;
- imported texts;
- documents;
- images;
- audio;
- pronunciation recordings;
- chat messages;
- AI tutor conversations;
- public or shared learning materials;
- community contributions.
You keep ownership of your User Content, subject to the rights you grant us in these Terms.
You are responsible for your User Content and for ensuring that you have the rights needed to upload, import, use, share, or publish it.
7. License you grant to Vocafy
To operate Vocafy, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, process, transmit, display, adapt, translate, format, analyze, and otherwise use your User Content as reasonably necessary to:
- provide the Service;
- operate learning, AI, speech, audio, and personalization features;
- save and display your content according to your settings;
- allow sharing, collaboration, public collections, or group features where you choose to use them;
- protect the Service from abuse, illegal content, copyright violations, and security threats;
- provide support;
- maintain backups;
- comply with legal obligations.
For private content, this license is limited to what is needed to provide, protect, and improve the Service.
For content that you choose to make public, shared, link-accessible, or available to a group or community, you grant us additional rights to display, distribute, reproduce, adapt, recommend, feature, and promote that content in connection with Vocafy.
We may feature or recommend public collections, public learning materials, or public contributions within Vocafy or in Vocafy-related promotional materials.
This license ends when your content is deleted from Vocafy, except where continued use is reasonably necessary because:
- the content was shared with others;
- the content was copied, saved, forked, or used by other users where such features were available;
- the content was included in public or community materials;
- the content exists in backups;
- retention is required for legal, security, abuse prevention, dispute, or compliance reasons;
- the content has been anonymized or aggregated.
8. Public, shared, and copied content
Vocafy may allow you to make content private, link-accessible, group-shared, or public.
You are responsible for choosing the correct visibility setting.
If you make content public or share it with others, other users may view, save, copy, reuse, fork, adapt, or interact with it where the Service allows this.
If another user saved or copied your public content while it was available, we may not be able to remove that copy from their account or learning materials, unless required by law or by our policies.
If you delete your account, public or shared content may remain available, but we may remove or anonymize personal attribution where reasonably possible.
We do not guarantee that public or shared content will remain available forever.
9. Imported content and third-party materials
Vocafy may allow you to paste, upload, import, process, or learn from third-party materials, such as:
- articles;
- book excerpts;
- lyrics;
- video subtitles;
- YouTube subtitles;
- images;
- documents;
- audio;
- other learning materials.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to upload, import, process, use, share, or publish such materials.
You must not publicly share copyrighted content unless you have permission or a legal basis to do so.
Private learning use does not automatically mean that you have the right to upload, process, copy, or store third-party content. You are responsible for complying with applicable law and third-party terms.
We may remove, block, limit, or disable access to content if we believe it may infringe copyright, violate these Terms, violate third-party rights, or expose Vocafy or users to risk.
10. Copyright and content reports
Vocafy respects intellectual property rights.
If you believe that content on Vocafy infringes your copyright or other rights, you may report it through the in-product reporting tools or contact us at:
copyright@vocafy.net
Your notice should include enough information for us to identify the content and understand the complaint.
For copyright or DMCA-type notices, we may ask for:
- your name;
- your email address;
- identification of the copyrighted work;
- identification of the allegedly infringing content;
- a statement that you believe the use is unauthorized;
- any other information reasonably needed to process the report.
We may remove or restrict content while we investigate a report.
We may also suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly infringe intellectual property rights.
11. AI features
Vocafy uses artificial intelligence to support language learning.
AI features may include:
- AI tutor conversations;
- role-play;
- grammar explanations;
- translations;
- corrections;
- vocabulary explanations;
- personalized examples;
- quiz generation;
- writing assistance;
- pronunciation or speech analysis;
- content recommendations;
- learning plans or study support.
AI features are provided for educational and language learning purposes.
AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, outdated, offensive, or unsuitable for your situation. You should review AI-generated content before relying on it, publishing it, or sharing it with others.
You are responsible for how you use AI-generated content.
12. No professional advice
AI conversations and learning materials may involve many topics, including travel, culture, business, health, law, finance, history, religion, politics, or personal situations.
Such content is provided only as language learning material, examples, role-play, or general educational support.
Vocafy does not provide legal, medical, financial, tax, psychological, professional, or expert advice.
You should not rely on Vocafy or AI-generated content as professional advice.
13. AI personas and role-play
Vocafy may allow you to interact with AI tutors, fictional characters, historical-style personas, role-play partners, or simulated conversation partners.
These personas are educational simulations. They are not real people, professionals, legal representatives, doctors, therapists, financial advisers, or official sources of information.
Historical, fictional, or educational role-play may be allowed where clearly used for learning and not for deception.
You must not use AI features to impersonate real people, deceive others, create fake endorsements, manipulate users, or misrepresent the identity or authority of any person or organization.
14. AI-generated public content
Vocafy may allow users to publish or share AI-generated content.
If you publish, share, or submit AI-generated content, you are responsible for reviewing it and ensuring that it complies with these Terms and applicable law.
Vocafy may label, mark, treat, rank, restrict, or display content as AI-generated or AI-assisted where appropriate.
We do not guarantee that AI-generated content is unique, non-infringing, accurate, or suitable for publication.
15. Voice, pronunciation, speech, and audio features
Vocafy may offer voice recording, pronunciation practice, speech analysis, text-to-speech, generated audio, or audio playback features.
You may use these features only for lawful language learning purposes.
You must not upload, submit, or process another person’s voice unless you have the right and consent to do so, or unless the use is clearly lawful and permitted for a specific educational purpose.
You must not use voice, speech, audio, or AI features to:
- impersonate another person;
- create deceptive audio;
- mislead others about the source of speech;
- imitate a living person without permission;
- create deepfakes or deceptive synthetic media;
- harass, exploit, or harm others.
Pronunciation scores, speech analysis, and related feedback are educational tools only. They are not official language certifications, exam results, professional assessments, or guarantees of language ability.
Generated audio, TTS output, synthetic voices, and related materials may be subject to technical, legal, provider, and license restrictions. Unless we expressly state otherwise, generated audio is provided for personal learning use only and may not be sold, redistributed, commercially exploited, or used to create competing services without our written permission.
You retain rights in your original input content, but you do not receive ownership of Vocafy’s software, systems, voices, models, tools, templates, or underlying technology.
16. Community, groups, classrooms, and collaboration
Vocafy may offer community, group, classroom, collaboration, sharing, or teacher-style features.
These may allow users to:
- create or join groups;
- share collections;
- collaborate on learning materials;
- follow, like, rate, or save content;
- invite other users;
- communicate with other users;
- assign or complete learning tasks;
- view certain group progress information.
Unless a separate written agreement applies, each user is responsible for their own account and use of Vocafy.
Group administrators may have certain rights to manage group content, invite or remove members, view group activity, or moderate group spaces.
If you invite others to a group, classroom, or shared space, you must have the right to do so and must comply with applicable laws, including rules related to younger users and consent.
Vocafy is not automatically acting as a school, educational institution, or official classroom provider unless a separate written agreement says so.
We may provide separate School Terms, Group Terms, or Organization Terms in the future.
17. Acceptable use
Vocafy is intended to be a safe, respectful, and educational language learning platform.
You agree to use Vocafy only for lawful, respectful, and educational purposes. You must not use the Service to upload, create, share, request, promote, or distribute illegal, harmful, abusive, infringing, deceptive, exploitative, unsafe, or otherwise inappropriate content or activity.
You must also comply with our Acceptable Use Policy, which forms part of these Terms. The Acceptable Use Policy explains in more detail what is not allowed on Vocafy, including rules about user content, imported content, AI misuse, copyright, scraping, automation, community behavior, minors, speech and audio features, and platform abuse.
We may review, restrict, remove, label, limit, suspend, or disable content or accounts that we believe violate these Terms, the Acceptable Use Policy, applicable law, or the rights of others.
18. Platform misuse
You must not misuse Vocafy’s systems, infrastructure, content, AI tools, APIs, or services.
This includes, without limitation, scraping, crawling, harvesting, copying, mirroring, extracting, or republishing Vocafy content or data without permission; using bots, automated scripts, automated accounts, or undocumented APIs without permission; bypassing rate limits, access controls, paywalls, security measures, usage limits, or technical restrictions; interfering with the operation, security, availability, or performance of Vocafy; attempting unauthorized access to accounts, systems, networks, prompts, models, data, infrastructure, or service providers; or using Vocafy to build, train, evaluate, benchmark, improve, or support competing products, datasets, AI systems, or language learning systems without our written permission.
You must not reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to discover source code, prompts, model logic, system logic, security logic, ranking logic, recommendation logic, or non-public functionality, except where legally permitted.
Further rules on platform integrity, automation, scraping, extraction, and system abuse are set out in our Acceptable Use Policy.
19. Moderation and enforcement
We may review, remove, restrict, hide, label, demote, disable, or block content or activity that we believe violates these Terms, our Acceptable Use Policy, applicable law, platform safety rules, or the rights of others.
We may use automated systems, AI-assisted tools, technical signals, user reports, service provider reports, and human review to help detect and respond to abuse, copyright issues, harmful content, illegal content, spam, security threats, or other violations.
We may take action including warning you, removing content, limiting content visibility, disabling sharing or community features, restricting account functionality, suspending or terminating an account, preserving records where needed for legal, security, abuse, or dispute reasons, and reporting serious issues to appropriate authorities where required or appropriate.
In urgent, serious, repeated, or high-risk cases, we may act immediately without prior notice.
Where reasonable, we may provide notice or an opportunity to appeal.
If you believe we made a mistake, you may contact us at: abuse@vocafy.net
We do not promise a specific response time, but we will try to handle reports and appeals within a reasonable time.

These are protected by copyright, trademark, trade secret, database, and other laws.
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use Vocafy for language learning.
You must not copy, sell, sublicense, mirror, reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative services from, or commercially exploit Vocafy or its content unless we give you written permission.
21. Feedback
We welcome feedback, suggestions, corrections, cultural notes, language insights, and ideas.
If you send us feedback, ideas, suggestions, corrections, or proposals, you allow Vocafy to use them without restriction, compensation, or obligation to you.
You should not send us confidential business information or trade secrets unless we have a separate written agreement.
If we believe your feedback or cultural/language contribution may be especially valuable, we may contact you about a possible collaboration. Any such collaboration would require a separate agreement.
22. Privacy
Our Privacy Notice explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal data.
By using Vocafy, you acknowledge that personal data will be handled according to our Privacy Notice and Cookie Notice.
You should not submit sensitive personal data unless it is necessary for a feature and you are comfortable doing so.
Vocafy is not designed to store highly sensitive information such as payment card numbers, government identification numbers, medical records, financial account details, or confidential legal documents.
23. Service availability and changes
Vocafy is provided as an evolving online service.
We do not guarantee that the Service will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or compatible with every device, browser, network, or location.
We may need to suspend or limit the Service for maintenance, updates, security, capacity, abuse prevention, infrastructure issues, provider issues, or legal reasons.
We may change, add, remove, limit, or discontinue features, including experimental features.
Where a change materially affects paid features, we will try to provide notice where required by law or where reasonably possible.
24. No guarantees of learning outcomes
Vocafy is designed to support language learning, but learning results depend on many factors, including your effort, time, consistency, prior knowledge, learning style, and external circumstances.
We do not guarantee that you will achieve:
- fluency;
- a specific CEFR level;
- a specific exam score;
- a specific pronunciation score;
- job or academic results;
- immigration, visa, or certification outcomes;
- any other specific learning result.
Progress statistics, scores, streaks, levels, and recommendations are educational indicators only.
25. Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Vocafy is provided “as is” and “as available”.
We disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, reliability, and security.
We do not guarantee that:
- Vocafy will be uninterrupted or error-free;

- the Service will remain available in its current form.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so some of the above may not apply to you.
26. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Vocafy and its owners, operators, employees, contractors, service providers, and affiliates will not be liable for:
- indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages;

- EUR 50 if you used only free services.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability where it cannot legally be limited, including liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or mandatory consumer rights.
27. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Vocafy and its owners, operators, employees, contractors, service providers, and affiliates from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from:
- your use of the Service;

In serious cases, we may act immediately without prior notice.
In less serious cases, we may provide notice or an opportunity to fix the issue where reasonable.
After termination, your right to use Vocafy ends immediately.
Certain sections of these Terms will continue to apply after termination, including sections about User Content, public content, intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, moderation, governing law, and dispute resolution.
29. Account deletion, data export, and backups
Vocafy may provide self-service tools for account deletion and data export in the future.
Until such tools are available for all relevant data, you may request deletion or export by contacting us.
Deletion and export requests are handled according to our Privacy Notice and applicable law.
Some data may remain for a limited time in backups, logs, security records, billing records, abuse reports, legal records, or other systems where retention is necessary or permitted.
Public or shared content may remain available after account deletion, but personal attribution may be removed or anonymized where reasonably possible.
30. Third-party services and links
Vocafy may rely on third-party service providers for hosting, infrastructure, security, email, payments, AI, speech processing, and other operations.
Third-party services may have their own terms and privacy notices.
Vocafy may also allow you to import, access, or interact with third-party content, websites, videos, subtitles, documents, or materials.
We are not responsible for third-party websites, third-party content, or third-party services that we do not control.
31. Consumer rights
Nothing in these Terms limits rights that you have under mandatory consumer protection laws.
If you are a consumer, some limitations, exclusions, or restrictions in these Terms may not apply to you.
If any term is found to be unenforceable against a consumer, the rest of these Terms will continue to apply to the maximum extent permitted by law.
32. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Hungary, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your country provide otherwise.
If you are a consumer, you may have the right to bring claims in your country of residence under mandatory consumer protection rules.
Before starting legal proceedings, we encourage you to contact us at:
hello@vocafy.net
so we can try to resolve the issue informally.
33. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
If we make material changes, we may notify you by email, in-app notice, website notice, or another appropriate method.
The updated Terms will become effective when posted or when otherwise stated.
If you continue using Vocafy after the updated Terms take effect, you accept the updated Terms.
If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you should stop using Vocafy.
34. Severability
If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining parts will continue to apply.
The invalid part will be interpreted or replaced in a way that best reflects the original purpose, to the extent permitted by law.
35. No waiver
If we do not enforce a part of these Terms, that does not mean we waive our right to enforce it later.
36. Assignment
You may not transfer or assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without our written permission.
We may transfer or assign these Terms as part of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, change of operator, or similar transaction, subject to applicable law.
37. Entire agreement
These Terms, together with our Acceptable Use Policy and any additional terms shown for specific features, paid plans, groups, schools, or services, form the agreement between you and Vocafy regarding your use of the Service.
