Condition
What must be true for this to happen or apply?
의미
A condition makes one situation depend on another. It can describe a real possibility, a regular link, or a situation that is only imagined. Languages can use linking words or verb forms, and some leave the link to context without a separate condition marker. Unlike Imagined situations, Condition is about the link between two situations, not whether either one is real.

모국어에서는
Korean attaches -(으)면 to a verb or adjective to make what follows depend on that situation. It can express an open possibility, a regular connection, or an imagined situation; it does not by itself say whether the condition is real. Forms with -다면 present the situation more explicitly as an assumption.
시간이 있으면 같이 점심 먹어요. (Sigani isseumyeon gachi jeomsim meogeoyo.)
-으면 makes having time the condition for the invitation.
내일 비가 온다면 소풍을 미룰 거예요. (Naeil biga ondamyeon sopungeul mirul geoyeyo.)
-다면 presents tomorrow's rain as an assumed possibility.
