What does the speaker want to find out?

A question asks for missing information or checks whether something is true. It can ask about a person, place, reason, or other detail, or offer alternatives to choose from. Languages mark questions with word order, question words, small markers, or intonation, and some have no special question word order. Requests and commands ask someone to act rather than supply information, although a question can also serve as a polite request.

모국어에서는
Korean normally keeps the same word order in questions and statements, with question words occupying the place of the missing information. In everyday polite speech, -아요/어요 can end either a statement or a question, with the voice and context distinguishing them. Formal polite questions have distinct endings such as -ㅂ니까/습니까.
지금 뭐 해요? (Jigeum mwo haeyo?)
뭐 occupies the position of the thing or activity being asked about.
내일도 와요? (Naeildo wayo?)
The ending is the same as in a polite statement; the voice and context mark the question.
몇 시에 출발합니까? (Myeot sie chulbalhamnikka?)
-ㅂ니까 is a formal polite question ending.
