EXPLANATORY
In this book, the characters use many different dialects (ways of speaking in a specific area). Some characters speak like people from Missouri. Other characters speak like people from the South or the woods. I wrote these different ways of speaking very carefully. I know these people and how they talk.
I explain this because I want you to understand. The characters do not all talk in the same way. They speak differently because they come from different places.
