1.
En parte es cierto.
That's partly true.

That's partly true, Ana: I save time working from home, but I have more meetings.
A partial concession can come before a reservation with 'pero'.
2.

It's not always like that: sometimes I work better at the office than at home.
3.

4.

It's different for me: I share a place with my sister.
5.
No necesariamente.
Not necessarily.

I don't necessarily get more work done at home, Ana, because sometimes I get a lot of calls.
'No necesariamente' challenges an assumed connection rather than giving a firm 'no'.
6.
En general, estoy de acuerdo.
In general, I agree.

In general, I agree with you, although sometimes I prefer to go to the office.
'En general' leaves room for exceptions; it does not mean agreement with every detail.
7.
Por ahora, me parece bien.
For now, it seems fine to me.

For now, working from home two days a week seems fine to me.
Limits approval to the present and leaves room for a later change.
8.
Por lo que veo, funciona.
From what I can see, it works.

From what I can see, it works: you get more done at home than at the office.
'Por lo que veo' points to what you observe, not to proof that applies everywhere.
9.
Mi opinión cambia según la situación.
My opinion changes depending on the situation.

My opinion changes depending on the situation: if it's noisy, I prefer to go to the office.
10.
Estoy de acuerdo hasta cierto punto.
I agree up to a point.

I agree up to a point, but I need to see the team in person.
Introduces a reservation without rejecting the other person's whole argument.
11.
Eso solo vale en ciertos casos.
That only applies in certain cases.

That only applies in certain cases: I need quiet to work from home.

As far as I know, that's how it works.

As far as I know, that's how it works: we can work from home two days a week.
'Hasta donde sé' limits certainty to your current knowledge, not to how far you can see.
14.
No se puede generalizar.
You can't generalize.

You can't generalize: you work well at home, but my sister doesn't.
Often used to push back against claims with 'todos', 'nadie', 'siempre', or 'nunca'.
15.
Hay que distinguir entre los dos casos.
We need to distinguish between the two situations.

'Lo' refers back to a result or observation, often a single example.
17.
No diría que siempre sea así.
I wouldn't say it's always like that.

I wouldn't say it's always like that: you have tough days at home too.
'No diría' softens the claim; 'siempre' is the part being questioned.
18.

21.

I'm fine with it, as long as we can choose.

I'm fine with it, as long as we can choose how many days we work from home.
'Siempre que' introduces a condition here, not something that happens every time.
22.
It's one thing for it to help and another for it to solve everything.

Working from home helps, but it's one thing for it to help and another for it to solve everything.
The second claim is stronger than the first; use this contrast to challenge an exaggerated conclusion.
