Ben: Welcome to Vocafy Unpacked. I'm Ben, and today I'm joined by Clara to talk about the thinking behind Vocafy. Clara, here's something familiar: I see a word in Spanish and know what it means. Then, when I need it, I can't remember it. Did I actually learn it?

क्लारा: आपने उसके बारे में कुछ तो सीखा है। किसी शब्द को पहचानना, बिना किसी संकेत के उसे याद करना, किसी के बोलने पर उसे समझना और खुद इस्तेमाल करना—इन सभी के लिए अलग-अलग क्षमताओं की ज़रूरत होती है। आप किसी एक में सहज हो सकते हैं और फिर भी दूसरे के लिए अभ्यास की ज़रूरत पड़ सकती है।

Clara: You've learned something about it. Recognising a word, remembering it without a hint, understanding it when someone says it, and using it yourself are different demands. You can be comfortable with one and still need practice with another.

बेन: तो उसे पहचान लेना भी प्रगति है, लेकिन अभी और अभ्यास बाकी है।

Ben: So recognising it is progress, but there's more to work on.

क्लारा: बिल्कुल। यही एक वजह है कि Vocafy अलग-अलग तरह के अभ्यास को आपस में जोड़ता है। कोई उपयोगी अभिव्यक्ति आपकी पढ़ने की सामग्री और दोहराव में शामिल हो सकती है; आप उसे सुन भी सकते हैं और खुद इस्तेमाल भी कर सकते हैं।

Clara: Exactly. And that's one reason Vocafy connects different kinds of practice. A useful expression can be part of something you read, something you review, something you listen to, and something you use yourself.

बेन: शुरुआत कहाँ से करूँ? क्या मुझे किसी कोर्स के अनुसार चलना होगा?

Ben: What's the starting point? Do I follow a course?

क्लारा: अगर आपको ज़्यादा मार्गदर्शन चाहिए, तो लेसन के अनुसार आगे बढ़ सकते हैं। लेकिन आप किसी ऐसी चीज़ से भी शुरुआत कर सकते हैं जिसे आप समझना या करना चाहते हैं। अपने स्तर के मुताबिक सामग्री बनाएँ, अपनी कोई मौजूदा सामग्री जोड़ें या उपलब्ध सामग्री में से चुनें।

Clara: You can follow lessons if you want more guidance. But you can also start with something you want to understand or do. Create material for your level, bring something you already have, or choose from the available content.

बेन: इसे एक ठोस उदाहरण से समझते हैं। मैं स्पैनिश सीख रहा हूँ और यात्रा की योजना बना रहा हूँ। मैं कहाँ से शुरू कर सकता हूँ?

Ben: Let's make that concrete. I'm learning Spanish, and I'm planning a trip. Where could I begin?

Clara: You could start by asking Vocafy to create a vocabulary set for your trip, with useful words, common phrases and example sentences. These collections are called Voca sets. You can listen to them while travelling or in your free time, choosing which language comes first, how often each item repeats, and how much time you have between them. Or you could generate a short reading about arriving in a new city, or a story with several chapters, at a level that suits you. A simple prompt can be enough to get started.

बेन: और अगर मुझे पहले ही यात्रा का कोई वीडियो मिल गया हो जिसे मैं देखना चाहता हूँ?

Ben: And if I've already found a travel video I want to watch?

क्लारा: ब्राउज़र एक्सटेंशन के ज़रिए YouTube वीडियो Vocafy में ला सकते हैं और उनके सबटाइटल का इस्तेमाल करके सीख सकते हैं। आप कोई लेख या अपना टेक्स्ट भी ला सकते हैं, या Vocafy में पहले से उपलब्ध कोई किताब, वीडियो या गाना चुन सकते हैं।

Clara: You can bring in YouTube videos through the browser extension and work with their subtitles. You can also bring in an article or your own text, or choose a book, video or song already in Vocafy.

बेन: क्या सामग्री ऐसी होनी ज़रूरी है जिसे लेकर मैं बहुत उत्साहित हूँ?

Ben: Does the material have to be something I'm passionate about?

क्लारा: नहीं। उपयोगी होना भी अपने आप में एक अच्छी वजह है। वह आपके काम का कोई दस्तावेज़, आपके कोर्स का कोई विषय या ऐसी स्थिति हो सकती है जिसका आपको आगे सामना करना पड़ सकता है। मकसद यह है कि भाषा में कही जा रही बात पर ध्यान देने की आपके पास कोई वजह हो।

Clara: No. Useful is a good reason too. It might be a work document, a topic from your course, or a situation you expect to face. The idea is to give yourself a reason to pay attention to what the language means.

बेन: ठीक है। मैं अपनी यात्रा वाली कहानी पढ़ रहा हूँ और मुझे एक ऐसी अभिव्यक्ति मिलती है जिसे मैं याद रखना चाहता हूँ। फिर क्या होता है?

Ben: All right. I'm reading my travel story, and I find an expression I want to remember. What happens?

क्लारा: आप उसे चुनते हैं, उसका अर्थ देखते हैं और अपनी शब्दावली में सहेज लेते हैं। जिस वाक्य में वह मिली थी, अगर वह उपलब्ध हो, तो वह भी साथ सहेजा रहता है, ताकि आप उस अभिव्यक्ति को उसके संदर्भ में फिर देख सकें।

Clara: You select it, check its meaning, and save it to your vocabulary. Where a source sentence is available, that stays with it, so you can return to the expression in context.

बेन: ताकि कल उसे देखकर यह न सोचना पड़े कि मैंने इसे सहेजा ही क्यों था।

Ben: Rather than looking at it tomorrow and wondering why I saved it.

क्लारा: सही। और अगर वह Vocafy द्वारा समर्थित किसी दूसरे टेक्स्ट में दिखाई दे, तो हाइलाइट देखकर आपको पता चल सकता है कि वह पहले से आपकी शब्दावली में है—चाहे आप अभी उसे सीख रहे हों या उसे ‘आता है’ के रूप में मार्क किया हो।

Clara: Right. And if it appears in another supported text, the highlighting can show that it's already part of your vocabulary—whether you're learning it or have marked it as known.

बेन: क्या लर्निंग मेमोरी से आपका यही मतलब है?

Ben: Is that what you mean by Learning Memory?

क्लारा: यह उसका एक हिस्सा है। लर्निंग मेमोरी आपकी सहेजी हुई शब्दावली, उसके संदर्भ, उसे सीखने के चरणों और संबंधित अभ्यास के इतिहास का रिकॉर्ड रखती है। Vocafy के अलग-अलग हिस्से इसी साझा रिकॉर्ड के आधार पर काम कर सकते हैं।

Clara: That's part of it. Learning Memory keeps track of your saved vocabulary, its context, your learning states and related practice history. It gives different parts of Vocafy a shared record to work with.

बेन: क्या उसे पता होता है कि मैं हर शब्द का कितनी अच्छी तरह इस्तेमाल कर सकता हूँ?

Ben: Does it know how well I can use every word?

क्लारा: पूरी तरह नहीं। किसी शब्द को सहेज लेना या दोहराव में सही जवाब देना पूरी तस्वीर नहीं बताता। फिलहाल यह मुख्य रूप से आपकी शब्दावली को आपके सीखने के इतिहास से जोड़ती है। आप किसी शब्द को किस तरह जानते और इस्तेमाल कर पाते हैं, इसे बेहतर समझने की सुविधा पर अभी और काम हो रहा है।

Clara: Not completely. A saved word or a successful review doesn't tell the whole story. Today, it mainly connects your vocabulary and learning history. Understanding more about the different ways you know and use a word is something being developed further.

बेन: तो मैंने अपनी अभिव्यक्ति सहेज ली है। उसे याद रखने का अभ्यास कैसे करूँ?

Ben: So I've saved my expression. How do I work on remembering it?

क्लारा: आप अलग-अलग तरह के अभ्यासों के साथ तय अंतराल पर उसे दोहरा सकते हैं। अभिव्यक्ति को याद करके बताना, जवाब टाइप करना, वाक्य पूरा करना या सुनने का अभ्यास करना—कई विकल्प हैं। कभी-कभी जवाब आसानी से पहचान में आ जाएगा; लेकिन उसे खुद याद करके बोलने या लिखने में ज़्यादा मेहनत लग सकती है।

Clara: You can return to it through spaced review, with different kinds of tasks. You might recall the expression, type an answer, complete a sentence or practise listening. Sometimes you'll recognise the answer easily; having to produce it yourself may take more effort.

बेन: और जब मेरा बैठकर सवालों के जवाब देने का मन न हो, तब?

Ben: And what about times when I don't want to sit and answer questions?

Clara: You can listen to your collections, just like that travel set we started with. As you add useful expressions from your reading or other activities, you can include those too. So what you discover today can become part of what you listen to tomorrow.

बेन: AI ट्यूटर कहाँ काम आता है?

Ben: Where does the AI tutor come in?

क्लारा: आप बातचीत कर सकते हैं, कोई बात समझाने को कह सकते हैं, शब्दावली का अभ्यास कर सकते हैं या किसी स्थिति की तैयारी कर सकते हैं। अपनी यात्रा के लिए आप होटल में चेक-इन करने या ट्रेन टिकट के बारे में पूछने का अभ्यास कर सकते हैं।

Clara: You can have a conversation, ask for an explanation, practise vocabulary or work through a situation. For your trip, you might practise checking into a hotel or asking about a train ticket.

बेन: क्या ट्यूटर मेरे अब तक के सीखने से जुड़ता है?

Ben: Does the tutor connect to what I've been learning?

क्लारा: वह आपकी शब्दावली और सीखने के इतिहास के प्रासंगिक हिस्सों तक पहुँच सकता है, इसलिए जिन अभिव्यक्तियों पर आप काम कर रहे हैं, वे अभ्यास में शामिल हो सकती हैं। वह क्विज़ या रिव्यू जैसे टूल भी शामिल कर सकता है, या बातचीत में आई किसी नई अभिव्यक्ति को सहेजने का सुझाव दे सकता है।

Clara: It can access relevant parts of your vocabulary and learning history, so expressions you're working on can come into the practice. It can also bring in tools such as a quiz or review, or offer to save a new expression that comes up.

बेन: क्या मुझे बातचीत को अपने सहेजे गए शब्दों तक ही सीमित रखना होगा?

Ben: Do I have to keep the conversation focused on my saved words?

क्लारा: नहीं। आप बातचीत को अपनी ज़रूरत के मुताबिक किसी भी उपयोगी दिशा में ले जा सकते हैं। यह जुड़ाव आपकी मदद के लिए है, और आप यह भी तय कर सकते हैं कि ट्यूटर चीज़ों को किस तरह समझाए और आपकी गलतियाँ कैसे सुधारे।

Clara: No. You can follow the conversation wherever it's useful. The connection is there to support you, and you can adjust how the tutor explains things and corrects you.

बेन: अगर मैं कोई अभिव्यक्ति समझता हूँ, लेकिन उसका उच्चारण करने में परेशानी होती है तो?

Ben: What if I understand an expression but struggle to pronounce it?

Clara: There's a separate pronunciation practice area. You can work with words you're learning or a vocabulary collection, record yourself, listen back and get feedback. That gives you a focused way to work on saying something aloud.

बेन: हमने पढ़ने, दोहराने, सुनने, ट्यूटर और उच्चारण की बात की। क्या मुझे इसी क्रम में चलना है?

Ben: We've talked about reading, review, listening, the tutor and pronunciation. Is that a sequence I'm supposed to follow?

क्लारा: नहीं, और आपको हर चीज़ इस्तेमाल करने की ज़रूरत भी नहीं है। हो सकता है आप कुछ पढ़ें और दो उपयोगी वाक्यांश सहेज लें। किसी और दिन आप दोहराव करें, किसी लेसन के साथ आगे बढ़ें या ग्रामर चेकर इस्तेमाल करें। असल बात यह है कि आप जो सीख रहे हैं, वही इन गतिविधियों को आपस में जोड़ सकता है।

Clara: No, and you don't need to use everything. You might read something and save two useful phrases. Another day, you might review, follow a lesson or use the grammar checker. The point is that these activities can connect through what you're learning.

बेन: तो शुरुआत कैसे करना बेहतर होगा?

Ben: So what's a sensible first step?

क्लारा: ऐसी एक छोटी-सी चीज़ चुनें जिसे आप समझना या कहना चाहते हैं। उससे जुड़ी कोई सामग्री बनाएँ या खोलें, जो उपयोगी लगे उसे सहेजें और बाद में उस पर लौटें। अपने लिए भाषा को समझने और इस्तेमाल करने—दोनों के मौके बनाएँ।

Clara: Choose one small thing you'd like to understand or be able to express. Create or open some material around it, save what's useful, and come back to it. Give yourself opportunities both to understand the language and to use it.

बेन: और ये मौके एक-दूसरे को मज़बूत कर सकते हैं।

Ben: And those opportunities can build on each other.

क्लारा: बिल्कुल। Vocafy के पीछे यही सोच है: जैसे-जैसे आप सीखते जाएँ, उपयोगी भाषा और उसका संदर्भ आपके साथ बने रहें।

Clara: Exactly. That's the thinking behind Vocafy: keeping useful language and its context with you as you continue learning.

बेन: क्लारा, धन्यवाद। और सुन रहे सभी लोगों का भी धन्यवाद। आप vocafy.net पर Vocafy के बारे में और जान सकते हैं। अगली बार Vocafy Unpacked में फिर मिलेंगे।

Ben: Clara, thank you. And thanks to everyone listening. You can explore Vocafy at vocafy.net. See you next time on Vocafy Unpacked.
