Luis Coloma

Luis Coloma was a Spanish writer and Jesuit priest from Jerez de la Frontera, and a member of the Real Academia Española. His novel Pequeñeces, a sharp picture of high society in Madrid, made him famous, and he also wrote historical novels and stories for children. In 1894 he wrote Ratón Pérez for the young King Alfonso XIII when he lost a milk tooth, and his tale gave the tooth mouse of Spanish-speaking children its best-known story.
