Vocafy's Pronunciation Practice uses your microphone to analyze your speech and provide instant feedback. If your microphone is blocked or not detected, follow these steps:

1. Grant browser permission

  1. Click the padlock, tune, or shield icon on the left side of your browser's address bar (next to https://vocafy.com).
  2. Find the Microphone setting and change it from Block to Allow.
  3. Refresh the webpage to apply the new permission.

2. Check operating system permissions

Even if your browser allows microphone access, your operating system may be blocking the browser itself:

  • macOS: Open System Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone and make sure your web browser (Chrome, Safari, Edge, or Brave) is toggled ON.
  • Windows 10 / 11: Open Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone and ensure "Allow apps to access your microphone" and "Allow desktop apps to access your microphone" are enabled.
  • iOS / iPadOS: Open Settings > Safari (or your browser) and set Microphone to Allow or Ask.
  • Android: Open Settings > Apps > Chrome (or browser) > Permissions > Microphone and select Allow while using the app.

3. Close other apps using the microphone

If another application (such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Discord, or a voice recorder) currently has an active, exclusive lock on your microphone, close that app and try again.
