本:欢迎回到《Vocafy 深度解析》。我是本,今天来聊聊 AI 导师。
Ben: Welcome back to Vocafy Unpacked. I'm Ben, and today we're talking about AI tutors.
克拉拉:嗨,本。这个话题很有意思,因为 AI 对话大概是最容易理解的语言学习工具之一。打开一段对话,直接开始使用所学语言就行了。
Clara: Hi Ben. This is an interesting one because AI chat is probably one of the easiest language-learning tools to understand. You open a conversation and start using the language.
本:听起来已经很实用了。每次晚上十一点突然想练西班牙语时,可不一定正好有人有空陪我。
Ben: Which already sounds pretty useful. I don't always have somebody available when I suddenly decide I should practise Spanish at eleven at night.
克拉拉:没错。想练习时随时都能找到对话伙伴,就解决了一个非常现实的障碍。
Clara: Exactly. A conversation partner that is available when you want to practise removes one very practical barrier.
可以试着表达想法,卡住时要求解释,只要对话对你还有帮助,就能继续聊下去。
You can try to express an idea, ask for an explanation when you're stuck and continue for as long as the conversation is useful to you.
本:可现在 AI 聊天机器人到处都是。我可以打开通用聊天机器人,对它说:“用西班牙语跟我聊。”
Ben: But there are AI chatbots everywhere now. I can open a general chatbot and say, "Talk to me in Spanish."
那为什么还要把导师放进语言学习系统里呢?
So why put a tutor inside a language-learning system?
克拉拉:这才是更有意思的问题。
Clara: That's the more interesting question.
区别并不只是又多了一个会聊天的 AI。
The difference isn't simply having another AI that can talk.
关键在于,对话能与什么连接起来。
It's what the conversation can connect to.
如果导师了解你正在学习的词汇,能把其中一些自然带回对话,在合适的时候加入真正的复习,还能帮你保存聊天中出现的实用内容,那么对话就会成为整个学习流程的一部分。
If the tutor knows something about the vocabulary you're already learning, can bring some of that vocabulary back into conversation, can include a real review when appropriate and can help you save something useful that appears during the chat, then conversation becomes part of a larger learning process.
本:这样一来,每次聊天就不必从零开始,之前学过的内容也能带进新的对话。
Ben: So instead of every chat beginning from a blank page, some of my learning can travel with me.
克拉拉:正是这个思路。
Clara: That's the idea.
在词汇列表里看到一个词时认识它是一回事;能在句子里认出来又是另一回事;而在对话中主动说出来,难度还会更高。
Knowing a word when you see it in a vocabulary list is one thing. Being able to recognise it in a sentence is another. And producing it yourself during a conversation can be harder again.
对话提供了另一个运用已学语言的场景。
Conversation gives you another place to work with language you have already encountered.
本:在具体聊这种连接之前,我究竟可以进行哪些类型的对话?
Ben: Before we get into that connection, what kinds of conversations can I actually have?
克拉拉:有好几种练习方式。
Clara: There are several ways to practise.
如果只想聊聊天,可以围绕感兴趣的话题开始自由对话。
If you simply want to talk, you can start a free conversation about something that interests you.
如果希望得到更多引导,可以选择课程模式,让导师介绍话题、讲解内容并提出问题。
If you want more guidance, you can use a lesson session where the tutor can introduce a topic, explain things and ask questions.
还可以选择专注词汇的练习,更直接地使用正在学习的词语和表达。
There is a vocabulary-focused session for working more directly with words and expressions you're learning.
此外还有角色扮演,可以练习现实中可能遇到的情境,例如旅行、点餐或参加求职面试。
And there is roleplay for situations you might actually face, such as travelling, ordering food or taking part in a job interview.
本:我喜欢角色扮演,因为它有明确的问题要解决。不用坐在那里琢磨:“今天两个人类该聊点什么?”
Ben: I like roleplay because there's an obvious problem to solve. I'm not sitting there thinking, "What should two humans talk about today?"
克拉拉:没错。具体情境赋予了对话明确的目的。
Clara: Exactly. The situation gives the conversation a purpose.
假设你正在学西班牙语,并准备出门旅行。
Let's imagine you're learning Spanish and you're preparing for a trip.
选择商店情境的角色扮演后,导师会扮演店员,你则练习自己在这段互动中要说的话。
You choose a shop roleplay. The tutor takes the role of the shop assistant and you practise your side of the interaction.
本:这时,我正在学的词汇就能派上用场了吗?
Ben: And this is where my vocabulary can start coming into it?
克拉拉:可以。
Clara: Yes.
对话可以调用你正在学习的指定词语和表达,以及 Vocafy 中与它们有关的信息。
Conversation can use selected words and expressions that you're already learning, together with some relevant information Vocafy has about them.
在普通对话中,这能让实用词汇再次自然出现。
In a normal conversation, that can help useful vocabulary appear again naturally.
在词汇练习中,导师则可以更直接地围绕正在学习或一直觉得困难的词汇展开练习。
In a vocabulary session, the tutor can focus more directly on words you're working on or words that have been difficult for you.
本:举个例子吧。
Ben: Give me an example.
克拉拉:假设你一直在学“Estoy buscando”,意思是“我在找……”。
Clara: Suppose you've been learning "Estoy buscando", meaning "I'm looking for."
对话可以自然创造一个用得上这个表达的机会。
The conversation could create a natural opportunity where that expression is useful.
导师可能会扮演店员,问你想找什么。
The tutor might be playing a shop assistant and ask what it can help you find.
这次不再只是又一次在学习卡片上看到“Estoy buscando”,而是有了主动说出它的理由。
Now instead of seeing "Estoy buscando" on a study card again, you have a reason to produce it.
本:那我可能会回答:“Estoy buscando un regalo para mi amigo.”
Ben: So I might answer, "Estoy buscando un regalo para mi amigo."
克拉拉:没错。
Clara: Exactly.
这一区别非常重要。
And that's an important distinction.
不只是在检查自己能不能认出这个表达,而是在尝试用它传达信息。
You aren't only checking whether you recognise the expression. You're trying to use it to communicate something.
本:导师会不会把我学的词汇硬塞进每一句话里?
Ben: Does the tutor constantly force my vocabulary into every sentence?
克拉拉:不会,也没必要这样做。
Clara: No, and you wouldn't want that.
目的并不是把每次对话都变成伪装起来的词汇测试。
The point is not to turn every conversation into a disguised vocabulary test.
在普通聊天中,选定的词汇会在适合时重新出现。如果专门选择词汇练习,整场练习就会更加集中于正在学习的内容。
In an ordinary chat, selected vocabulary can be brought back when it fits. If you specifically choose vocabulary practice, then the session can focus much more heavily on what you're learning.
本:这很好地区分了随意聊天和有意识地通过对话学习。
Ben: That seems like a useful difference between just chatting and deliberately studying through chat.
克拉拉:的确如此。有时候会想暂时忘掉自己正在学习,只是轻松聊一场。
Clara: It is. Sometimes you want to forget that you're studying and simply have a conversation.
但有时也可能会想:“这些词明明已经在我的词库里了,可我从来没真正用过。”
At other times you might think, "I have these words in my vocabulary, but I never actually use them."
这时,专注词汇的对话就很合适。
Then a vocabulary-focused conversation makes sense.
本:如果在对话中想进行更像测试的练习呢?
Ben: And what happens if I need something more test-like during the conversation?
克拉拉:Vocafy 也可以把练习直接加入聊天。
Clara: Vocafy can bring practice directly into the chat too.
例如,可以显示一道简短的选择题,快速检查词汇掌握情况。
For example, it can show a short multiple-choice question for a quick vocabulary check.
更重要的是,还可以加入真正已经到复习时间的词汇。
More importantly, it can also bring in an item that is actually due for review.
本:你说的“真正到了复习时间”,是指日常词汇复习中的内容吗?
Ben: When you say actually due for review, you mean from my normal vocabulary review?
克拉拉:没错。
Clara: Exactly.
回答的并不是一道只存在于当前对话中的模拟问题。
You're not answering a pretend question that exists only inside that conversation.
一张到期应复习的词汇卡可以直接出现在聊天中。在这里作答后,结果也会计入日常复习记录。
A vocabulary card that is due for review can appear in the chat. You answer it there, and the result becomes part of your normal review history.
这会影响该词汇下一次出现的时间。
That means it can affect when the item should appear again.
本:这和 AI 临时编一道词汇题给我很不一样。
Ben: That's quite different from an AI simply inventing a vocabulary quiz for me.
克拉拉:是的。两者都可能有用,但并不是一回事。
Clara: Yes. Both can be useful, but they're different things.
一种是对话过程中生成的问题。
One is a question generated as part of the conversation.
另一种则与你真正正在学习的词汇及其复习记录相连接。
The other is connected to vocabulary you're actually learning and to its review history.
本:也就是说,对话可以连接到学习系统内部。
Ben: So the conversation can reach into the learning system.
克拉拉:在系统支持的范围内,确实如此。
Clara: In supported ways, yes.
而且这种连接也可以反向进行。
And the connection can also work in the other direction.
本:也就是说,对话也能把一些内容带回学习系统?
Ben: Meaning the conversation can give something back?
克拉拉:没错。
Clara: Exactly.
假设导师使用了一个从未见过的短语,你心想:“这个很实用,我想记住。”
Imagine the tutor uses a phrase you've never seen before and you think, "That's useful. I want to remember that."
这个表达不必随着对话结束就此消失。
Conversation doesn't have to be the end of that phrase.
Vocafy 可以建议保存实用的词语或表达,并附上一条例句。
Vocafy can offer to save a useful word or expression together with an example sentence.
本:会自动保存吗?
Ben: Automatically?
克拉拉:系统可以提出建议,但是否添加由你决定。
Clara: It can offer it, but you decide whether to add it.
只有确认后,它才会成为个人词库的一部分。
Nothing becomes part of your personal vocabulary until you approve it.
本:这样很好。不然热情过头的 AI 大概能在一次对话后往我的词库里塞进五十个表达。
Ben: I like that. Otherwise an enthusiastic AI could probably fill my vocabulary with fifty expressions from one conversation.
克拉拉:正是如此。
Clara: Precisely.
导师可以帮助发现值得学习的内容,但决定权仍然在你手中。
The tutor can help you notice something worth learning, but you're still making the decision.
确认添加后,这个表达就会成为个人词库的一部分。可以在“我的知识库”中管理它,也能在 Vocafy 其他使用已保存词汇的功能中继续学习。
Once you approve it, that expression becomes part of your personal vocabulary. You can manage it in My Knowledge and use it in other parts of Vocafy that work with your saved vocabulary.
本:所以,这里其实有两个方向。
Ben: So there are really two directions here.
正在学习的内容可以进入对话,而对话中遇到的实用内容也可以进入我的词库。
Something I'm already learning can enter the conversation, and something useful from the conversation can enter my vocabulary.
克拉拉:这样理解非常准确。
Clara: That's a very good way to think about it.
也正因如此,它比简单地把聊天机器人放在闪卡系统旁边更有意思。
And that's what makes the connection more interesting than simply putting a chatbot next to a flashcard system.
对话和词汇不必始终彼此割裂。
The conversation and the vocabulary don't have to remain completely separate.
本:你刚才还提到,可以选择导师的互动方式。
Ben: Earlier you mentioned that I can choose how the tutor behaves too.
克拉拉:是的,因为每个人想要的老师都不一样。
Clara: Yes, because not everyone wants the same kind of teacher.
有些学习者希望每个错误都立刻得到纠正。另一些人会觉得这样很累,更愿意先把话说完,再听反馈。
Some learners want every mistake corrected immediately. Others find that exhausting and would rather finish what they're saying before getting feedback.
有些人喜欢简短回复,有些人则想要详细讲解。
Some want short responses. Others want detailed explanations.
有些人想要轻松随和的对话伙伴,有些人则偏好更接近传统老师的风格。
Some want a relaxed conversational partner. Others prefer something closer to a traditional teacher.
本:Vocafy 可以调整这些吗?
Ben: And Vocafy lets you change that?
克拉拉:可以。可以调整正式程度、回复详略、纠错方式、鼓励程度和幽默感等设置。
Clara: Yes. You can adjust things such as formality, how detailed the responses should be, how correction works, how encouraging the tutor should be and how much humour it uses.
还可以让导师更侧重语言学习中的某些特定方面。
You can also give the tutor a stronger focus on particular areas of language learning.
也可以决定讲解时要在多大程度上使用你已经掌握的语言。
And you can decide how much of a language you already know should be used for explanations.
本:所以作为初学者,遇到复杂内容时,我可能希望用母语来讲解。
Ben: So as a beginner I might want difficult explanations in my own language.
克拉拉:没错。
Clara: Exactly.
之后,可能会更愿意让几乎所有内容都使用正在学习的语言。
Later, you might prefer to keep almost everything in the language you're learning.
如果不想自己逐项设置,也可以直接选择已经设定好特定教学风格的预设导师。
And if you don't want to configure all of that yourself, you can start with a ready-made tutor that already has a particular teaching style.
本:我想再回头聊聊纠错。
Ben: I want to go back to corrections for a moment.
语言对话中有一个问题:如果每说一句就被纠正一次,我就没办法自然地聊下去了。
One problem I have with language conversations is that if I'm corrected after every sentence, I stop talking naturally.
克拉拉:这正是纠错方式如此重要的原因。
Clara: And that's precisely why correction style matters.
没有一种设置能适合所有人或每一次练习。
There isn't one setting that is right for everybody or for every session.
如果正在进行针对性的语法练习,频繁纠错可能正合需要。
If you're doing focused grammar practice, frequent correction might be exactly what you want.
如果练习的是如何让对话继续下去,太多打断反而会让练习失去意义。
If you're practising keeping a conversation going, too many interruptions might defeat the purpose.
真正需要考虑的是:此刻想练习什么?
The useful question is what you're trying to practise at that moment.
本:这和塑造一个完美的 AI 教师人格很不一样。
Ben: That's quite different from the idea of one perfect AI teacher personality.
克拉拉:是的。良好的学习互动,一部分取决于任务,一部分取决于学习者。
Clara: Yes. A good learning interaction depends partly on the task and partly on the learner.
有时候需要一位老师。
Sometimes you want a teacher.
有时候需要一个对话伙伴。
Sometimes you want a conversation partner.
有时候希望有人用词汇来挑战自己。
Sometimes you want somebody to challenge you with vocabulary.
有时候则想在现实情况发生前,先演练一遍特定情境。
And sometimes you want to rehearse a specific situation before it happens in real life.
本:这些对话本身呢?结束后会消失吗?
Ben: What about the conversations themselves? Do they disappear when I finish?
克拉拉:不会。可以回到之前的对话,稍后继续练习。
Clara: No. You can return to earlier conversations and continue practising later.
还可以搜索和整理对话,把实用的对话加入收藏,并归档不想继续显示在主列表中的对话。
You can also search and organise them, mark useful conversations as favourites and archive ones you no longer want in your main list.
本:听起来很简单,但如果一段对话是为面试做准备,另一段是练习旅行场景,这应该会很有用。
Ben: That seems simple, but I can imagine it being useful if I had one conversation preparing for an interview and another practising a trip.
克拉拉:没错。
Clara: Exactly.
一次有价值的对话,不会仅仅因为练习结束就变成用完即弃的内容。
A useful conversation doesn't have to become disposable just because the session ended.
本:让我看看自己是否理解了整体思路。
Ben: Let me see if I've understood the bigger picture.
可以选择自由对话、引导更充分的课程、词汇练习或角色扮演。
I can start with a free conversation, a more guided lesson, vocabulary practice or a roleplay.
导师可以使用一些我正在学习的词汇。
The tutor can work with some vocabulary I'm already learning.
到期的词汇复习可以出现在对话中,并计入正式复习记录。
A due vocabulary review can appear inside the conversation and count as a real review.
如果遇到新的实用表达,也可以选择把它加入个人词库。
And if a useful new expression comes up, I can choose to add it to my vocabulary.
克拉拉:就是这样。
Clara: That's it.
还要注意我们没有说什么。
And notice what we're not saying.
AI 不需要在背后包办整套学习计划,也不需要决定接下来该学什么。
The AI doesn't need to secretly design your entire learning plan or decide everything you should learn next.
真正有用的部分要具体得多。
The useful part is much more concrete.
它可以把对话与学习流程中原本彼此分散的环节连接起来。
It can connect conversation with parts of the learning process that would otherwise sit in separate places.
本:这也符合我们之前在节目中讨论过的一点。
Ben: Which fits something we've talked about before on this podcast.
学习一个词,不只是多看几遍。最终要能在它出现时理解它,并在需要时用出来。
Learning a word isn't just seeing it enough times. Eventually you want to understand it when it appears and be able to use it when you need it.
克拉拉:没错。
Clara: Exactly.
检索练习有助于词汇学习,但学语言不只是考记忆。还需要机会带着明确目的运用已经掌握的内容。
Retrieval practice can help vocabulary learning, but language isn't only a memory test. You also need opportunities to use what you know for a purpose.
对话就提供了这样的机会。
Conversation gives you one of those opportunities.
本:如果有人第一次打开 AI 导师,你会给出什么建议?
Ben: So if somebody opens the tutor for the first time, what would you suggest?
克拉拉:从一个真实目的开始。
Clara: Start with a real purpose.
不要只输入“教我西班牙语”。
Don't just type "teach me Spanish."
选择一个真正想聊的话题,或者现实中确实可能遇到的情境。
Choose something you actually want to talk about or a situation you might genuinely encounter.
如果已经在学习一些词汇,可以试试词汇练习,多给自己创造使用这些表达的机会,而不只是认出它们。
If you have vocabulary you're already learning, try a vocabulary session and give yourself opportunities to use those expressions rather than only recognise them.
如果对话中出现了确实想记住的短语,就把它保存下来。
And when the conversation produces a phrase that you genuinely want to remember, save it.
本:还有别的吗?
Ben: Anything else?
克拉拉:认真留意纠错,不要只把它们当作打断。
Clara: Pay attention to corrections instead of treating them as interruptions.
如果导师展示了更好的表达方式,可以在之后的对话中亲自再用一次。
If the tutor shows you a better way to express something, try using that form yourself later in the conversation.
目标并不是完成一场毫无错误的对话。
The goal isn't to have a flawless chat.
错误往往正是最有练习价值的地方。
The mistakes are often where the useful practice is.
本:这样听起来,不太像在和无所不知的 AI 老师对话,更像是把对话当作另一种学习环境。
Ben: That sounds much less like talking to an all-knowing AI teacher and much more like using conversation as another learning environment.
克拉拉:没错。
Clara: Exactly.
AI 可以让对话练习变得更容易获得。
AI can make conversation much easier to access.
但 Vocafy 真正有意思的地方,在于对话不再是孤立的。
But the interesting part in Vocafy is what happens when that conversation is not isolated.
正在学习的词汇可以进入聊天,可以在聊天中完成正式复习,而对话中出现的实用语言也可以回到个人词库。
Words you're learning can come into the chat. Real review can happen there. Useful language from the conversation can go back into your vocabulary.
对话由此成为让学习继续进行的另一个空间。
The conversation becomes another place where your learning can continue.
本:也许这才是真正的区别。
Ben: And maybe that's the real difference.
聊天不是终点,而是整个系统的一部分。
The chat isn't the destination. It's part of the system.
克拉拉:这个总结很好。
Clara: That's a good way to put it.
本:克拉拉,谢谢你为大家详细介绍。
Ben: Clara, thanks for walking us through it.
克拉拉:不客气。
Clara: My pleasure.
本:也请各位听众尝试一个简单的小实验。选择一个真正想用新语言应对的情境,开始角色扮演,看看学过的内容究竟能用出多少。
Ben: And to everyone listening, try one simple experiment. Pick a situation you actually want to handle in your new language, start a roleplay, and see how much of what you're learning you can actually use.
克拉拉:如果发现了一个值得保留的表达,就知道该怎么做了。
Clara: And if you discover one expression worth keeping, you know what to do.
