The artist is a person who creates beautiful things. The goal of art is to show the beauty and hide the artist. A critic is a person who explains his feelings about beautiful things.

Some people find bad meanings in beautiful things. These people are not good. Other people find beautiful meanings in beautiful things. These people are educated. There is hope for them.

There is no such thing as a moral or an immoral book. Books are either written well or they are written badly. That is the only difference.

An artist does not want to prove anything. Even true things do not need proof. An artist does not care about what is right or wrong. If an artist cares too much about morality, his style becomes bad.

The artist can express everything. Thoughts and language are the artist’s tools. Bad things and good things are the artist’s materials.

All art is a surface and a symbol. If people look under the surface, they take a risk. If people read the symbol, they also take a risk.

Art is like a mirror. It shows the person who looks at it, not life. When critics disagree, the artist is happy with his work. We can forgive a person for making a useful thing if he does not love it. The only reason to make a useless thing is to love it very much.

All art is quite useless.
