Auxiliary verb

Which helper verb builds the question, the negative or the tense?

base form past participle auxiliary verb main verb infinitive modal verb

Значення

A helper verb works with another verb to build a question or negative, show time, or add a meaning such as ability. The other verb names the main action or state, while the helper carries part of the grammatical message. Some languages use several helper verbs, while others express these meanings mostly through endings or have no such helpers. Endings change the word itself; an auxiliary verb adds a helper alongside the main verb.

Як це розпізнати

Look for a verb used alongside another verb that builds its question, negative, time form, or added meaning rather than naming a separate action.
