Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) ensures that even if someone guesses your password, they cannot access your account without your physical device.
How it works
When 2FA is enabled, logging in requires two things:
- Your password (or email code/social login)
- A 6-digit code generated by an Authenticator app on your phone.
Logging in with 2FA
After entering your password, you will see a screen asking for your 2FA code.
- Open your Authenticator app and type the 6-digit code into the boxes.
- You can check the Trust this device for 30 days box so you do not have to enter the code every time you log in from your current computer or phone.
What if I lose my phone?
Don't panic! If you cannot access your Authenticator app, click the "Use a backup code" link on the 2FA screen. You can enter one of the 8-character backup codes you saved when you originally set up 2FA to regain access to your account.
How to enable 2FA
You can turn on Two-Factor Authentication at any time by going to your Settings, selecting the Security section, and following the setup instructions for your Authenticator app.
