Watching YouTube videos is one of the most enjoyable ways to immerse yourself in natural speech. Vocafy's Video Player turns authentic videos into rich, interactive study lessons.

How to import a YouTube video

  1. Open any YouTube video that has subtitles or closed captions in your target language.
  2. Click the Vocafy extension icon on the YouTube page and select Import to Vocafy.
  3. Vocafy processes the video subtitles and creates an interactive lesson in your Videos library (/videos).

Features of the interactive Video Player

  • Synchronized Dual Subtitles: Follow the spoken target language with optional translation subtitles aligned line by line.
  • Click Any Subtitle Word: Clicking a word automatically pauses playback and opens a popup with its meaning, part of speech, and pronunciation.
  • Save with Exact Timestamp: Saved words include the exact video timestamp and sentence context so you can jump right back to that scene anytime.
  • Line-by-Line Navigation: Replay the current subtitle line with one click to train your ear on difficult pronunciations.
