Create something you want to read

You do not have to search for a text that happens to match your level and what you are learning.

Tell Vocafy what you want to read about and choose the kind of text you want. You can create a mini story, dialogue, email, chat, review, notice, article or workplace update.

The available choices adapt to your language level, so a beginner can start with simpler formats while more advanced learners can work with more demanding texts.

Reads are designed to be manageable learning texts that you can work through in a single study session.

Match the text to your level and purpose

You can choose your language level and how long you want the reading to be.

You can also decide how it should sound, with options such as neutral, casual, formal, humorous or professional.

This means the same general topic can become a very different reading depending on what you need.

For example, you could create a simple A2 dialogue about checking into a hotel, a B1 informal story about travelling with friends, or a more advanced professional update about a workplace project.

Practise something specific

A Read does not have to be only about a topic.

If there is particular vocabulary or grammar you want to practise, you can make that part of the request too.

For example, you might ask for a story that uses past tenses, a dialogue for practising restaurant vocabulary, or a workplace text containing expressions you want to become more comfortable with.

Vocafy can also suggest words from your learning memory that may be useful to meet again, so you can include them in a new reading when you want more practice with them.

Get useful vocabulary with the text

When a Read is created, Vocafy can also pick out several useful words and expressions from it.

Each one comes with an example, helping you see how it is used rather than treating it as an isolated item.

You can still explore any other word or expression directly while reading, so you are not limited to the suggested vocabulary.

Check what you understood

If you want more than reading practice, you can add comprehension questions to the text.

They give you a simple way to check whether you followed the meaning of what you read, without turning every Read into a full lesson.

You can use them when they are useful and leave them out when you simply want to read.

Read without constantly leaving the text

Reads use Vocafy's interactive reading tools, so much of the help you need stays inside the text.

Select a word or expression to explore its meaning and save it together with the sentence where you found it.

Words you have already saved can be marked in the text, helping you recognise vocabulary you have met before.

You can also use optional word-type highlighting to make patterns such as nouns, verbs or adjectives easier to notice.

Listen sentence by sentence

Each sentence can have its own audio, so you can listen while you read or replay a particular part without starting the whole text again.

This can help you connect the written form with how the sentence sounds and makes it easy to return to a difficult section.

Use translation when you need it

You can view the translation sentence by sentence while keeping the original text in front of you.

The translation is prepared with the wider text in mind, so individual sentences are not treated as completely unrelated pieces.

You can use it only where you need support rather than replacing the entire reading with a translated version.

Make the text your own

A generated Read is not locked after it is created.

You can edit the text if you want to change a detail, simplify a sentence or turn the result into something closer to what you had in mind.

When a change affects existing audio or translation, Vocafy can prepare those parts again so they match the updated text.
