Everyday expressions and vivid exaggerations describe overloaded days. A worker talks to a coworker using familiar language and tú forms. The cards move from unfinished tasks and full schedules to figurative expressions about juggling time and handling too much.

4.

Conversational; 'para rato' gives an estimate, not a precise length of time.
5.
acumularse el trabajo
get backed up with work

without a minute to spare
I don't have a minute to spare today: between meetings, I have to answer your messages.
Often an exaggeration; it need not mean literally every minute is occupied.
9.
tener mil cosas que hacer
have a million things to do
I have a million things to do, Ana: calls, orders, and my meeting with you.
Informal exaggeration; 'mil' is not an actual count here.
10.

estar hasta el cuello de trabajo
be up to your neck in work

work against the clock

not be able to handle everything
