Human memory naturally fades over time if information is not reviewed. Vocafy uses proven spaced repetition principles to optimize when each word appears in your daily practice queue.
What is spaced repetition?
Instead of reviewing every word every single day (which quickly leads to study burnout), spaced repetition gradually increases the time between reviews as a word becomes stronger in your memory:
- New & Challenging Words: Reviewed frequently — after 1 day, then 3 days, then a week — until recall becomes effortless.
- Solidly Known Words: Intervals expand to weeks, months, or longer so you do not waste time reviewing what you already know.
- Right on Time: Each word returns just as its memory trace begins to weaken, which is the most effective moment to strengthen long-term recall.
How your ratings shape your schedule
During a practice session, you rate how easily you recalled each card (or the system checks your accuracy in typing and quiz modes):
- Still Learning / Hard: The card comes back sooner so you can reinforce it without falling behind.
- I Know This / Good: The interval lengthens, moving the word towards long-term mastery.
Where to find your daily reviews
Simply navigate to Daily Practice (/my/practice). Your queue is automatically organized with three clear indicators: Due Now (words ready for review today), New Today (new items to explore), and Active Cards (total words currently in your learning cycle).
