Focus is marked by word order, stress, and particles such as именно or только.

На изучаемом языке
В английском фокус часто показывается ударением в речи, конструкциями вроде It was John who..., выносом слова вперёд и контекстом. Один только порядок слов не всегда передаёт нужный акцент.
It was John who called.
John — выделенная, важная информация: именно Джон позвонил, а не кто-то другой.
Учащиеся могут менять порядок слов там, где по-английски естественнее поставить смысловое ударение, использовать конструкцию It was... или переформулировать фразу яснее.
